Ackley, Ichiro unstoppable in Mariners' win

The Mariners received much of the Tokyo Dome support despite the A's playing as the "home team" in this two-game set, thanks in large part to Ichiro's presence. But the 12-year MLB veteran was pleased the crowd of 44,227 provided strong support for all the players in their first experience with Japanese fans.
"Seeing how they welcomed the players, they were very warm-hearted," Ichiro said. "That makes you cry."

The 2nd game with the A's was not so polite
Carp went on the DL with a sprained shoulder... after diving at a ball. Figgins was moved into LF to replace him.
Vargus came out after he walked two in a row. Oakland lit up the Mariner relievers without much problem.
It seems that someone has been lying about how many good pitchers the M's have.
On the other hand, at least they do not have a $9MM DH that is hitting .084, like the Angels have. It looks like they are going to have to eat the whole contract on the old timer.

The Tribe punched their ticket in the 9th
They were shut out until the 9th.
