On Sunday in Pittsburgh, the Pirates Adam LaRoche said after the Pirates beat San Diego 8-3 that he'd never seen Padres ace Jake Peavy "pick and nibble" so much. Do LaRoche's comments have validity?
Peavy says "no" but then vows to pitch more aggressively when he gets the ball Friday at Dodger Stadium.
Makes you wonder...
"I understand people are going to talk, and rightfully so," Peavy told the
Union-Tribune's Tom Krasovic. "I haven't done what I'm expected to do and what I expect to do in the last two starts."
Following an off-season where the Padres shopped him extensively, Peavy is off to a 2-3 start with an alarming ERA of 5.74 and a WHIP of 1.47.
