I am an Australian so I've been around cricket since birth. The 2 games are extremely similar, but I find that baseball is more "fun" and more appealing.

I personally prefer baseball but cricket isn't a '****' sport. You guys should try hitting a ball with a big wooden mallet. Pretty fun.

Well he's kind of had it in me ever since i accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace "accidentally" with "repeatedly" and replace "dog" with "son".

Both sports are similar in the sense that they are both quite quirky.

There are far more formats involved in cricket though

I cant stand cricket to be honest. Alot of people play over here obviously (UK) and we used to play at school etc but i find it boring, it's just something to do in the summer when the football season's finished for alot of people

I prefer baseball over cricket. Twenty20 looks more interesting than Test Cricket. I don't know how test cricket has survived the modern world. Many people don't have a few hours free to watch sports; much less five days.

Is there much coverage of it in the States? My mate from over here lives in NYC and came back for his stag do, the cricket was on when we were in the pub and he reckoned his missus who's from Ohio wouldnt even be able to name what sport it was

Not much coverage, I have only seen games broadcasted twice here. Most recent was like three or four years ago; West Indies All-Stars versus some other team. Sky Sports on FOX Soccer Channel definitely shows highlights.

Baseball! Similar difficulty in its own respect but baseball has more appeal and i think its more challenging than Cricket. However, imagine a 5 day long ball game?

Some information about one of the fastest growing Professional sports leagues in the world:

Quote:
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional league for Twenty20 cricket competition in India...

In 2010, IPL became the first sporting event ever to be broadcast live on YouTube in association with Indiatimes. Its brand value is estimated to be around $3.67 billion in fourth season. According to global sports salaries review, IPL is the second highest-paid league, based on first-team salaries on a pro rate basis, second only to the NBA. It is estimated that the average salary of an IPL player over a year would be $3.84 million.
