7 reasons to watch Ö Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway: No. 1

Sooner or later, probably sooner, Kevin Harvickís lengthy winless streak in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, now standing at 78, will come to an end.

Could next Saturday nightís race at Phoenix International Raceway see him return to victory lane?

Thatís reason enough to watch the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at PIR. While several other drivers have enjoyed enormous success at PIR in recent years Ė Jimmie Johnson has won the last three races there Ė Harvick has been very good at the desert track. He swept the Cup races there in 2006, and has a very respectable 10.8 average finish in his last eight Phoenix starts.

Since beating Mark Martin in that thrilling finish to win the 2007 Daytona 500, Harvick has come up empty in the win column, a perplexing streak. Itís not like Harvick or his team, who have made the Chase For The Sprint Cup the past three years, have been completely off the mark.

Itís just one of those things that happens in NASCAR. Drivers lose their mojo. If past history is any indication, Phoenix is a great opportunity for Harvick to rediscover his winning ways.
