Mets general manager Omar Minaya
called Billy Wagner
's MRI results "good news."
Yeah, good news. Like when you total your car but manage to save the front left tire.
Minaya announced last night that Wagner, the Mets closer, was going on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to Sunday with a strained left forearm.
An MRI taken of his elbow earlier in the day showed "structurally all things were great," Minaya said. Rest is the prescription for now. The Mets hope Wagner will be able to return when he is eligible on Aug. 18.
