Home-Opener Rained Out

Quad Cities River BanditsThe Quad Cities River Bandits scheduled home-opener against the Beloit Snappers has been postponed due to rain.

The 2009 home schedule will now begin on Tuesday night with a 7:00 p.m. game against the Beloit Snappers. The contest will be the first Economic Stimulus Night of the season, featuring 2-for-1 tickets for everybody and a free hot dog, soda and bag of chips for all kids 12 and under. The first 2,000 fans will also receive Magnet Schedules courtesy of Upper Crust Pizza and Mix 96.

Monday's rainout will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday. The first game will be begin as scheduled at 11:00 a.m. The twin bill will consist of two seven-inning games with a half-hour break in between. Wednesday will also be the first Guaranteed Prize WINS-day of the season. Thanks to Rhythm City Casino, everybody in attendance will be given a winning scratch card with a different prize!

UP NEXT: The River Bandits return to Modern Woodmen Park for the 2009 home-opener against the Beloit Snappers on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. with a Magnet Schedule Giveaway as well as 2-for-1 tickets and Kids Eat Free! A doubleheader follows on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. featuring Rhythm City Casino's Gauranteed Prize WINS-day where everybody is a winner! Peoria comes to town starting Thursday for the Modern Woodmen Park Community Shred and $2 drink specials while the first Fireworks Friday, Rockin' Saturday and U.S. Bank Family Sundays of the year will take place over the weekend. On Tuesday, April 21, the park will play host to NCAA Division I baseball for the first time with a match-up between the University of Iowa and Western Illinois.
