Cristhian Martinez dealt six scoreless innings in his 2009 debut for the Jacksonville Suns (3-2) in a 2-0 series finale win over the Tennessee Smokies (2-3) in front of 6,095 Monday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Martinez (1-0) allowed two singles and a walk to go along with five strikeouts in both his season and Double-A debut with the Jacksonville Suns. Martinez enters his third season with the Marlins organization after being selected from the Tigers in the 2006 Rule 5 draft.

Casey Lambert (0-1) fell in the loss for Tennessee, giving up both Suns runs on five hits with a walk. The start was Lambert's first as a professional, and only start since his last game at the University of Virginia.

Matt Peterson (2) picked up the save for the Suns, escaping a ninth inning jam with runners at second and third with one out.

The Suns opened the scoring in the first inning as Lee Mitchell's sacrifice fly scored Lorenzo Scott for a 1-0 lead. The RBI was Mitchell's seventh of the series.

Jacksonville added another run in the fifth inning as Lorenzo Scott singled home Tim Torres for a 2-0 advantage that would stand.
