Texas-Pan American posted a six-run sixth and Scott Wingo tossed a complete game as the Broncs cruised past Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 9-3 at Whataburger Field on Sunday afternoon in the finale of the Whataburger College Classic.

Wingo (1-1) yielded five hits and faced one over the minimum through four innings. The Garland native struck out nine and walked one in his longest outing of the season.

UTPA (1-11) carried a 2-1 lead into the sixth before erupting for six tallies thanks to RBI singles from former Moody Trojan Andrew Perez and Ryan Vest. Jose Salmon also contributed with a bases-loaded walk. An error and wild pitch accounted for the other runs.

Islander starter Brandon Orr (1-2) was tagged for five runs and nine hits in five frames.

TAMUCC is now 4-10.

All of the Islander runs occurred via home run. Stephen Flora went deep for the third time this season and second of the weekend to lead off the fifth. Jacob Perales hit a two-run shot with one away in the sixth.
