Brewers Brewers staff doing just fine without an 'ace'

Quote:
Part of the story of the Brewers' 2011 pitching staff is told by posing a question:

Who is this team's No. 1 starter?

Look at some of the National League's other contenders, and it's easy. In San Francisco, it's Tim Lincecum. In Philadelphia -- even though the Phillies are stocked with aces -- it's Roy Halladay. In Milwaukee, a team pitching as well as any in baseball over the past month, it's a very tough call.

They do have some good arms though in Greinke, Gallardo, and Marcum.

no one thinks Greinke is the ace? The dude would have at least 13-15 wins if it weren't for his early season STUPID injury and we might even be talking about him in the NL Cy Young race!

It's because they have 3 under valued aces in Greinke, Marcum and Gallardo.

I believe they feel Gallardo is the ace of the staff. He may not be an elite ace like Verlander or Halladay, but he leads the staff in many ways.
