"Corey Hart did everything he could at Triple-A Nashville to get out of town.
"I wanted to make sure that I hit well and played the field well, every day, so I could get the chance to come back up here," Hart said.

He got his wish Wednesday. Hart, an outfielder who appeared in four games for the Brewers early in the season before being sent down to Nashville, was recalled after shortstop J.J. Hardy went down with an ankle injury.

Hart began the season on the Brewers' Opening Day roster and spent the first two weeks of the season with the team, but rarely got off the bench. He made four appearances, one as a defensive replacement, and went 1-for-3 at the plate.

After being sent down April 18, the 24-year-old prospect hit .320 and stole 11 bases in 25 games with the Sounds.

"I struggled a little bit at first, but I was able to get it going in Nashville," Hart said.

Hart will now share backup outfield duties with Gabe Gross. Hart made his first appearance on Thursday since getting called up, pinch-hitting for starting pitcher Dana Eveland and grounding into a double play.

"I know that's my role, so I'm prepared to do whatever they need me to do," Hart said."
