Royals Predictions 2011

When last season ended I thought for sure the Royals were headed for a 100 loss season. And you hate to put too much hope in spring games, but I think the Royals will be better than I expected. Which may not be saying much.

I'm predicting 73-89.

Royals will surprise this year. Just not sure how yet.

But optimistic for some reasons.

Outfield: Outfield defense will be much improved with Guillen gone, and Gordon with some experience now. I think this will be a strength. Lots of guys out there who can run and cover a lot of ground.

Infield: Defense improved here too with a healthy Aviles at 3B and Escobar at SS. And when Mike M comes up to play 3B, Aviles slides over to 2B. I'm betting it happens by mid-June.

Pitching: Much depends on how the starters do. Though Greinke was awesome, we were losing lots of his games anyway. Losing him doesn't necessarily effect our Win / Loss record much. Chen was our most consistent pitcher last year and he's back.

Royals will surprise this year. Just not sure how yet.
2011 Prediction: 73-89

God bless you, I cannot believe the Royals still have fans.

You just keep being an optimist. That is the way fans are supposed to be! I'm not, but that is the way they really are supposed to be!!!!!!!!!
