HOUSTON -- The only thing at the top of the holiday wish list for Astros catcher Jason Castro is getting healthy, which has been a challenge in the past 10 months for the club's first-round pick from Stanford in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft.
Castro, a California native, broke into the Majors in 2010 before missing all of last season when he injured his right knee during Spring Training and wound up going through major surgery. Castro underwent surgery Dec. 9 to remove the sesamoid bone from his foot, putting him on the shelf for another three months. He could still return for Opening Day, which is Castro's biggest goal going forward.
