The Astros completed their July 30 trade with the Phillies on Monday, selecting 19-year-old outfielder Domingo Santana from Philadelphia as the player to be named later.
Santana, who was playing at Class A Lakewood, has been assigned to the Astros' Class A Lexington club. Both Lexington and Lakewood are in the South Atlantic League.
The right-handed-hitting Santana batted .269 in 96 games at Lakewood, with 29 doubles, four triples, seven home runs, 32 RBIs and four stolen bases. He was originally signed by Philadelphia out of the Dominican Republic as an amateur free agent on March 23, 2009.
