I just got home so here's today's lineup:

Burke 2B
Loretta SS
Berkman 1B
Lee LF
Scott RF
Lane CF
Lamb 3B
Munson C
Albers P

And I see my boy Luke struck out swinging and left 2 on to end the top of the 1st. Yikes. Lane walked in the 2nd but was also left on. So much for the first 2 innings.

Big 6th inning for the Astros. They batted around and scored 6 runs! I hope they hold the lead.

I could not stay up to watch the end and am glad to see the 'Stros hung on.

2 on the road against a struggling team. A win is a win.

Tonight is Albers - good luck Guys!
Wiggy is under club control for a few years, plus he's pretty cheap. So, no, we will not be ditching Wiggy. In his favor, I can say that at least we got what we were expecting from this trade (unlike the Jennings trade). Wiggy IS a serviceable 3rd baseman.

If the Astros don't resign Lamb and Loretta, they shot themselves in the foot again by not trading them for something (don't care if it was pennies on the dollar or not - bottom line, they're free agents at the end of this year). That's just stoopid when you're OBVIOUSLY not going to the playoffs.

I agree with Holly in that we're stuck with Wiggy. I think Lamb is more likely to resign than Loretta. If Loretta's offered arbritration and doesn't accept, in return the Astros will get a draft pick. If neither of them are offered arbritration that would be a really stuupid move by mgt. We'll have to wait and see just how stuupid Astros mgt is.

Well, Penny is a daunting opponent. Let's hope Jennings does better than usual tonight.

In order to put together a successful season it helps if you can pick up large winning streaks. But to do that you need your starters to keep putting up decent starts, something that just hasn't happened this season for us.

If Lamb and Loretta leave via FA I could see both being offered starting jobs somewhere in the majors.

We could do with some decent draft picks next season.
