Philly fans get unruly with Astros OF Scott

PHILADELPHIA — Astros outfielder Luke Scott was harassed throughout Monday night at Citizens Bank Park by unruly fans who threw coins and hot dogs at him from the right field bleachers.

At one point in the eighth inning, play was actually stopped after a fan almost hit Scott in the face with a hot dog, prompting Scott to inform the umpires. Manager Phil Garner also came out of the dugout to speak with the umpires after the incident.

"The one that they threw just about hit me to the face," Scott said. "It was getting too close. But you have to forgive them and move on.

"The umpire's like, 'What's happening?' I said, 'They're throwing coins and hot dogs in my direction. If they want to throw stuff whatever. But if it's a couple inches from my head, that's not right. They did say that they were taking someone (out of the stadium)."

"Baseball statistics are like a girl in a bikini. They show a lot, but not everything." ...~Toby Harrah, 1983

That isn't the first time I've heard of that happening in Philly and it's a shame security can't do a better job of keeping people under control.

I wouldn't go that far now. We are some of the most passionate fans there are in this country, and yes, things get a bit out of hand a couple of jack asses doesn't mean everyone of us "suck"...

But there's no excuse for that kind of stuff though. Someone could get seriously injured.

I was just being a bit sarcastic.

There is no excuse, and I'm sure they were removed for their actions. People just have a bit too much to drink and take things too far, it happens everywhere. Jeez, you throw snowballs at Santa and you get a bad rep
