In this thread we will cover the brief history of the home of the houston colt 45s Colt Stadium.

Here is the first yearbook for the houston colt'45s. this was sold at colts stadium. houston used colt stadium from 1962 until the astrodome opened in 1965.

Here is the 1964 and last yearbook for the houston colt 45s. in 1965 the team would move into the astrodome and change their nickname to astros.

Those good 'ole boys back then were something else. I heard that at the ground breaking of the Astrodome, people were shooting bullets into the ground with Colt 45s. I don't know if it is true, but it sure does make great folklore. I also understand that one of the Houston area Fingers stores is located where the Houston Buffs used to play. I hear that they had a place marked off to show where home plate used to be. I need to go check that out some day. Thanks for the nostalgia!
