Does Frank Thomas, the "Big Hurt" have a big shot of making the HoF?

Quote:
Among a crowded 2014 Hall of Fame Class, there undeniably raises one question: Who indeed belongs in on the first ballot? Many of the voters believe that if Babe Ruth didn’t make the Hall as a first ballot shoe in, than many others that follow deserve the same fate.

That fact proved to be true in the eyes of many, when players such as Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens were on the ballot for the very first time in 2013. Clemens ended up getting 37.6% in the voting while Barry Bonds followed shortly thereafter at 36.2%. Those two players were undoubtedly clouded with the negative aura of the “Steroid Era”, and mixing in a multitude of other factors remained barred from Cooperstown.

Contrary to last year however, it is a viable fact that someone will certainly get the 75% vote required to get in the most prestigious Hall of Fame in all of sports, but who will they be? There is absolutely no shadow of a doubt that both first time ballot entrees Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine will get in on their first time on the ballot. With 660 wins combined between the two, the question that they face is what percentage they will gain exactly. However, there is one name in particular that although seems to have first ballot Hall of Fame numbers, may not get in this Wednesday in Cooperstown: Frank Thomas.

One would think at just hearing the name Frank Thomas, first ballot Hall of Famer coincides immediately. One would think it would be obscene to think otherwise. Conversely...

The fact that this guy even questions Frank Thomas as a HoFer is laughable. Thomas was never linked to steroids, and his numbers speak for themselves. The fact that he wasn't a good defender and play quiet a bit of DH is irrelevant.

His first 10 seasons alone could have gotten him into the HOF. There are plenty of guys that weren't ever remotely close to that awesome and didn't amass that value in 20 years already in....
