Yeah, even though 300 wins is a high benchmark for any pitcher nowadays, Carpenter is aging and is only at 144 so he will be lucky to even get to 175 wins in his career.

I say he will break the 200 mark.. and probably be a low 200 winner. I think if he could get his ERA down 10 or 15 points and go over the 210 win mark, he could be a hall of fame pitcher..

Still with a low 200 wins that would be a huge stretch for him to make the Hall.

I would put Carpenter as a Hall of Famer at about a less than 5% chance. He would need to be an out of this world type pitcher to change my mind starting right when he gets back.

Nah, I haven't voted.

Although I've always seen Carpenter as a HoFer. Numbers don't lie. He needs atleast 70 more wins to become atleast a contender..

Curt Schilling has 216 career wins and he would appear on my ballot if I had one for 2013.

This next generation of Hall of Fame pitchers are going to be more different than ever. The days of 300 win, 300 inning pitchers are LONG GONE. I think the magic number to get into the hall of fame will probably be about 230. Plus putting up consistent numbers.

It used to be you won 250-300 games you got in
