Tigers Detroit Tigers: Miguel Cabrera is Really Good

Quote:
It does not need any saying about how good the Detroit Tigersí slugger Miguel Cabrera is. From the time he first laced up his shoes and put on a white and black striped Florida Marlins jersey, Cabrera has been one of the leagues best hitters.

There is something special about the way Cabrera plays the game of baseball. Heís not the fleetest of foot, but still tries and hustle down the line. He is a team player that will do anything he can to help his team win. He has great plate vision, rarely do you see him off balance on a swing. He can hit the ball to right field like a left handed power hitter, and hit to all fields. No matter if itís an ace on the mound, or a shutdown closer, Cabrera will hit you.

Mike Trout looked he was going to win the AL MVP but Cabrera has just been so good lately and if he wins the Triple Crown I don't see how he could be denied the AL MVP. The American League has just been so loaded with great seasons this year. People will talk about Trout's season for years to come. The same goes with Cabrera.

Despite a two month slump, Josh Hamilton still has had an incredible season. He hit four home runs in a game against the Orioles on May 8. He was even on pace to break the 73 home run record at one point. He picked things up in August and while he has had impressive numbers overall, one could only wonder if he didn't struggle so mightily in June and July and maybe he would be baseball's biggest story if he kept it up those two months.

Then there's Adrian Beltre as well. He is quietly putting together a nice argument for the Hall of Fame and could possibly reach 3000 hits. He became only the second player in big league history to have a three home run game and to hit for the cycle in the same week. The first player was Joe Dimaggio.

This season has just been so exciting to watch and follow. Cabrera and the names I mentioned above are big reasons why.

I agree, Rizzo. It's been a good season from the AL. The NL hasn't been super exciting though.

Yes, he's FREAKING INCREDIBLY AWESOME, HOWEVER, he's hamstrung by the fact some idiot decided that teh ponce was a good choice and gave that imbecile the same contract.

IMNHO he needs either a Big Mac ad contract(if he wants to copy daddy), or a whopper commercial(IF he DOESN't want to copy daddy), either way he's just about as useful/less.

Add to that the bullpen is at best average, and leyland continues to cling to crap players, Delman, Boesch, etc.

Good luck to Leyland in the job hunt next year as I hate to say it, they cocked up their season tonight IMNHO and even if they haven't I SERIOUSLY doubt that they have any chance to do anything in the playoffs given their crap lineup.

Leyland had ALL SEASON LONG to play with his batting lineup, and did he? Nope, nada. Now he's whining and faking crying... no sympathy here. That lineup sucked ALL season LONG FFS! AND I also credit him for NOT opposing poncey pickup, as in they CERTAINLY could've spent that money on a much better collection of players than that non-entity poncey, whim I've seen make EXACTLY ONE SINGLE $10M/y play/hit.

(Sorry, I call it like it is, Poncey needs to go somehow or the other, he doesn't fit, he doesn't produce, he's his daddy's kiddy which would be fine IF the Tigers COMPLETELY sucked but theyh don't now, aso he needs to go to a suck team that will drool over a few HRs and a bunch of singles...)

[EDIT]
And that baseball is WAY too hidebound to do little things like make ACTUAL CHANGES *GASP* to batting lineups... imagine teh Wings had Scotty not juggled his lines...

So Leyland wipe yer nose and sail off somewhere ASAP, too much reliance on statistics in baeball IMNHO when CLEARLY it's jsut NOT happening, and even WAY BACK when it wouldn't matter much to experiment you don't, then whine when yer statistical line utterly phails, is just egregiously WRONG.

I have no idea what you're talking about. *GASP*

But seriously. Don't come here dissing one of the best players in the MLB and expect to get away with it. Miguel Cabrera is not useless. I hope that was a joke. Cabrera is batting .333 with 42 home runs and 132 RBI's. That's better then anybody in the WHOLE MLB. Anybody. And What the F*ck are you talking about with Cabrera doing McDonalds commercials? Seriously? What the hell is that sh*t? Cabrera not only is one of the best, if not the best, player on the field, but he's in shape. He weighs 230 and is 6'4, they key weight for a guy like him. And for the matter on Leyland needing to job hunt next year. Are you serious? The Tigers have a chance to win the AL Central this year. They are 1 game back from first place. Holy sh*t! They must really suck! Hardy har har! Not.

You can't be serious about what you wrote? Last time I checked it wasn't April Fools day. Or do I have my calendar set wrong? Leylands lineup is bad you say? Really? Let's take a look, shall we?

Austin Jackson - .300 BA, 15 HR's, 63 RBI's

Delmon Young - .270, 18 HR's, 72 RBI's

Jhonny Peralta - .245, 12 HR's, 60 RBI's

Prince Fielder - .307, 27 HR's, 102 RBI's

And, oh yeah, the guy who sucks and is fat, Miguel Cabrera. Who is going to win the MVP this year. Yup, he sounds like a sh*tty player to me.

If you call yourself a Tigers fan, or a baseball fan for that matter, you really have some thinking to do. Cause I can tell you right now, you have NO idea what you are talking about. Nope, nada.

*GASP*

LOL Chill out, Kelzzy. Everyone has their own opinion, and stop kissing ***.

He just wanted to vent. I get pretty upset when the Angels lose important games which leads to me talking **** about my own team.

I don't think he said Cabrera sucks. If he did, then he can't be taken serious.

I'm not kissing an *** here, Sharky. When my Giants lose I don't 'vent' about it and say retarded things like:

'Bruce Bochy is so stupid because he plays Brandon Crawford. Oh My God, he is batting .250. *Gasp*'

'And how about Bochy's lineup? Maybe Pablo Sandoval should go do a McDonalds commercial *gasp*.'

'Oh! We lost a game tonight, Bruce Bochy is going to be out of a job next year.' Or how about the 2010 season?*Gasp*'

'Bochy is such an idiot. Good luck Bochy, but no chance in hell are the Giants going to make the playoffs.'

See, none of that makes any sense in hell.

I mean, okay, I can see getting mad and wanting to blow off some steam, but what he said about the Tigers is so utterly stupid.. it's just.. it makes me.. *GASP*.

I don't have any hard feelings for CutterJohn, but some things have to be straightened out.

I talk **** about my team all the time. Shoot, we have threads called "Vent Threads" every game day on angelswin.com. All we do is vent and go off on our team. Especially on Mike Scioscia every time he makes a stupid move.

And you don't vent because you root for like 20 different teams. When you root for 1 team, you love that team with a passion and get upset easily. Well, I know I do. I'm a die hard angels fan.
