Anibal Sanchez had retired the first two batters in the bottom of the seventh, before Carlos Santana broke up the no-hit bid with a triple.
Sanchez had looked dominate all day against the Cleveland Indians’ hitters. Until Santana broke up the no-hitter, the Indians had done nothing. Sanchez went 6 2/3 innings, gave up three hits, two runs, and struck out seven. His best performance in Tigers uniform.
