Tigers Guthrie a Royal Problem for the Detroit Tigers

On Wednesday night, Bruce Chen shutdown the Tigers offense. Not allowing a single run in eight innings of work. Jeremy Guthrie — who has been outstanding in the month of August (2-1, 2.50 ERA), was looking to shutdown the struggling Tigers’ offense again.

The Tigers continued their trend of leaving runners in scoring position. In the bottom of the first Miguel Cabrera hit a two out single. Prince Fielder hit a single of his own to get Cabrera to third, but would not score him.
