TODAY’S NEWS: Reds Hall of Famer Joe Nuxhall was released from Sarasota Memorial Hospital
and briefl y stopped by the ballpark.

3:45), Monday (3:30-3:45), Wed, 2/28 (3:30-3:45), Thu, 3/1 (7:30-7:45), Sat, 3/3 (7:30-7:45) and Mon,

SPRING TRAINING NEWS: In 2007 the Reds are celebrating their 10th season at the City of Sarasota
Sports Complex...position players will report tomorrow, followed the next morning by physicals...the
fi rst full-squad workout will be held Thursday at 12:30 p.m....there will be no morning workout on
Thursday...MLB’s mandatory reporting date for players is February 27...photo day is Friday at 7:30 a.m.
ET...the Reds Rally downtown is at noon Saturday...the annual kids clinic is at 1:00 p.m. Sunday...
minor league pitchers and catchers report March 2 and position players on March 7...the minor league
staff reports March 1...the Reds’ spring training opener is March 1 vs the Pirates in Bradenton...the
home opener is March 3 vs the Twins at Sarasota’s Ed Smith Stadium...Opening Day 2007 is Monday,
April 2 vs the Cubs in the fi fth season at Great American Ball Park.

SPRING TRAINING TICKETS: Tickets for Reds spring training games are on sale at the spring training
complex in Sarasota, on-line at reds.com and via phone at (877) 647-7337...for information regarding
spring training tickets or Premier packages, call (941) 954-4464 or visit reds.com...the Reds’ 31-game
exhibition schedule opens March 1 and includes 16 games at Ed Smith Stadium.

SCRIMMAGE: The annual intrasquad scrimmage is scheduled for noon on Wed, 2/28 at Sarasota’s
Ed Smith Stadium...general admission tickets at $5 each will benefi t the American Cancer Society...
tickets can be purchased now at the box offi ce or online at reds.com.

THE POWER OF TRADITION: Former Reds players working full-time in the organization include Doug
Bair, Billy Hatcher, Tom Hume, Ken Griffey Sr., Ted Power, Johnny Bench, Freddie Benavides,
Aaron Holbert, Darren Bragg, Jeff Brantley, Donnie Scott and Mario Soto..spring training guest
instructors include George Foster, Dave Concepcion, Tom Browning, Todd Benzinger, Eric Davis,
Doug Flynn, Chris Sabo and Cesar Geronimo.
2006 SPRING TRAINING: Last spring, their ninth at the City of Sarasota Sports Complex, the Reds
fi nished 22-11 (.667) and produced the most victories and second-best winning percentage in the Major
Leagues (Fla, .679, 19-9)...Cin has produced 3 consecutive spring records of at least .500 for the fi rst
time since 1988-90, while the team was based in Plant City...haven’t produced winning records in 4
straight springs since at least 1970...in 2006, average attendance at 7,500-seat Ed Smith Stadium in
Sarasota was 5,275, including 2 sellouts (3/10 vs NYY, 3/28 vs Bos)...the paid attendance of 7,624 on
3/28 vs Bos was the third-largest in stadium history and the second largest paid crowd ever to see the
Reds play here...total attendance at Ed Smith was 84,403 in 16 dates...club leaders included Andy
Abad (28g), Brian Buchanan (.511ba, 10 2b), Adam Dunn (6hr), Edwin Encarnacion (70ab, 25h,
54tb, 6hr, 20rbi), Ryan Freel (9sb), Dewayne Wise (14r), Matt Belisle (2sv), Brandon Claussen
(26ip, 22k), Todd Coffey (13g) and Aaron Harang (4w).

HIT KING EXHIBIT: Tickets are on sale for the exclusive preview party of the Pete Rose exhibit at the
Reds Hall of Fame and Museum...the event is scheduled for 6 p.m. on March 13 at Great American
Ball Park and the Hall of Fame...the $250 Hit King Package includes a meet-and-greet with Rose in
the Riverfront Club, open bar, hors d’oeuvres, an autographed premium item and a parking pass...the
$100 Cincinnati Kid Package includes a presentation in FSN Ohio Club 4192 and a preview of the

FRICK AWARD: Legendary Reds announcer Joe Nuxhall is a fi nalist for the National Baseball Hall
of Fame’s 2007 Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasting excellence...on Thursday, the winner will be
announced on the Hall of Fame’s web site at www.baseballhalloffame.org...Marty Brennaman, Nuxhall’s
radio partner for 31 seasons, won the award in 2000.
IN THE BOOTH: The Reds fi lled out their broadcast teams by signing to 4-year contracts Thom
Brennaman (10/4/06) and Jeff Brantley (10/31/06)...they join Hall of Famer Marty Brennaman & Joe
Nuxhall on 700 WLW Radio and George Grande & Chris Welsh on FSN Ohio...Grande and Welsh,
the longest-running TV duo in Reds history, in 2007 will return for their 15th season together.

THE GM: Executive vice president and general manager Wayne Krivsky is in his second season as
the organization’s top baseball offi cial and in his 31st in a Major League Baseball front offi ce...in his
fi rst season he acquired 36 players, 24 of whom appeared in at least 1g for the Reds...his ‘06 club
remained in the playoff race until the second-to-last day of the season...he has spent 28 years in baseball
administration, with scouting and player evaluation experience at all levels of development.

THE SKIPPER & HIS CREW: Jerry Narron is in his third season as Reds fi eld manager, in his fourth season in the organization and in his 34th season
in professional baseball...is 126-128 as the club’s skipper...on 6/28/06 was given a 2-year contract extension through the 2008 season, with a club option
for 2009...returning from last year’s staff are bench coach Bucky Dent, fi rst base coach Billy Hatcher, third base coach Mark Berry, bullpen coach Tom
Hume and bullpen catcher Mike Stefanski...new faces on this year’s staff are pitching coach **** Pole and hitting coach Brook Jacoby.
