GLENDALE, Ariz. -- It takes a village to develop a young starting pitcher, covering concerns ranging from innings pitched for a season to pregame routine to even what time said starter arrives at the ballpark.

In the case of White Sox southpaw Chris Sale, though, he seemingly enters this first-year growth process with a better foundation than other young hurlers. There's plenty of time for worries later.

"He is under no restrictions right now," said White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper of the reliever-turned-starter working in just his second full season in the Majors. "He's just like everybody else. He's going to go out there and pitch."
