Comeback player of the year honors in the American League could come down to Jim Thome and the man he replaced as the White Sox' designated hitter, Frank Thomas.

Choosing between the two isn't an easy call, Sox manager Ozzie Guillen admitted, but his choice is the player currently wearing a Sox uniform.

''That's a tough call, real tough, because I had Frank last year, and he went through a tough time,'' Guillen said. ''I'm glad he's having the year he's having with Oakland because when you work hard, you get where you are.
