Rangers placed third baseman Hank Blalock on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 28, with inflammation in his right shoulder.

It's unclear if this is at all related to the surgery he underwent last year after being diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. Still, it wouldn't come as a shock if we've seen the last of him this season. Ramon Vazquez will again be used as the Rangers' starting third baseman.
