It's no accident that C.C. is in this position, he has been arguably the most durable Starting Pitcher of the last decade and pitching for the Yankees only enhances his chances of reaching 300. He has only one season below 30 starts in his career and that was in 2006 with the Indians; 28 starts. Of course it's all speculation, past accomplishments have nothing to do with his future, just ask Ken Griffey Jr.

Pitchers have a tendency to hit a wall at times in their career too.

25 year career=12 wins per season
22 year career=13.35 wins per season
20 year career=15 wins per season

With those numbers it seems that a pitcher who comes in early will have to be dominant especially since pitchers seem to become injured more. I doubt any of those guys on the list will make it. Someone will have to come in out of high school and be good

It's deja vu all over again. I mentioned before that in the early nineties; ESPN reported that baseball may never see another 300 game winner again. Here are the win totals for the season in which the most recent 300 game winners turned 30 years old; all active in the early nineties:

Greg Maddux - 165 Wins
Roger Clemens - 152 Wins
Tom Glavine - 139 Wins
Randy Johnson - 68 Wins

It sounds crazy, but I believe that more than one of these pitchers will get to 300 wins.

I think Halladay, Sabathia, and Verlander will make it.

I have updated the Wins for each pitcher. Verlander added 6 Wins since the last update, King Felix added 4 to his total, Doc and C.C. added 3 apiece and Buehrle added 2 more Wins.

I voted for C.C., but the way pitchers are handled in the game nowadays it may be hard for any pitcher to reach the 300 win milestone.

Yep, with five-man and even six-man rotations in some cases, teams got the game down to a science. It's not like the old days with four man rotations and you gave the guy that ball and said pitch me nine innings. I highly doubt we see someone pitch 300 innings let alone get 300 wins.

A lot of starters these days with the exception of the elite pitchers only go 5 or so innings. This gives the relievers who in my opinion are no where near as good as any major league starter or they would be one can blow the leads.
