Unless Felix Hernandez gets traded, or the Mariners become a good team, there is no way it will be him. He definitely has the talent, but no run support to help him get wins. Last year he gave up 14 runs in 12 losses.

The problem with 300 these days is specialized bullpens. A manager will pull his SP in the 6th inning of a tie game for matchup purposes, and the team scores and steals the win.

If anyone has a chance, its CC. Of all the pitchers that are possibilities talent wise, CC is the only one with a consistently strong offense behind, and probably will stay with the Yankees for a long time. Maybe Halladay can compare with team backing, but he's 3 years older than CC and not too many more wins.
Verlander is 3 years younger than CC, but has about 4 good years less wins(75/4=18.5), so figure he's at least a year behind.

I agree, you make a good point. Bullpens have become a large part of the game especially from a managerial standpoint. More often then not the skipper will pull a starter just based off match-ups unfortunately.

With the caliber of pitcher that Halladay is I don't see him losing a 10 win advantage over Sabathia unless he gets injured.

There's a good chance that he'll lose it simply because he's older.

I have updated Sabathia's age and the Wins for each pitcher in the poll.

Halladay is 3 years older and only 17 games from 300. He can easily get that by next season.

Isn't Halladay only 17 wins away from 200; someone is still and dreaming with

I have had one hell of a weekend. haha I still think by 39 in 5 years he will be away 25. I just don't see how CC's shape is going to hold together.
