Polo Grounds

In these photos of the Historic home of the new york giants the Polo Grounds, in the first photo you are on 157th street that was located on the 3rd baseside of the ballpark. this is were the elevated rail yard stood until the 1940s when it was torn down for apartments.the photo shows the polo grounds during the 1940s demolition of the rail yard.
In the botttom photo you are standing on coogans bluff behind home plate and looking down at the historic stadium.

10-3-1951

Here is a photo of giants manager Leo Durocher heading into the polo grounds clubhouse at the end of the 3rd game of the 1951 playoffs between brooklyn and new york giants.Bobby Thomson has just won the pennant for the giants with that historic homeun in the bottom of the 9th inning.

In this photo from 1910 you are standing in the upper deck of the old wooden polo grounds that burned down.

Here is a ticket from the Polo Grounds when the Giants played the Brooklyn Dodgers on 4-26-1956.

It might interest all to know that New Era Cap Company and 47 Brand have both recently introduced New York Giants caps with the TRUE 1950s logo. Great Giants caps
