Here is a great photo showing the bobby thomson game 3 playoff homerun going into the stands in section 35 at the polo grounds on 10-3-1951.

Polo Grounds

Here is a photo of inside the polo grounds from 1935. you can see that this is by were sections 6 and 7 where.

Polo Grounds 1956

Here is a photo taken in 1956 showing the stands on the 3rd baseside.this is around section 28. you can see the apartment buildings outside the polo grounds that were built on 157th street next to the stadium.

Polo Grounds Scoreboard

Here is another photo of the polo grounds from 1956 showing the left field scoreboard on the facing of the upper deck.you can also see the huge chesterfield cigarette box ad next to the scoreboard. chesterfield was a sponsor for the giants for years.

1950s POLO GROUNDS PARKING PASS

Here is a parking lot pass for someone to alow them to park there car in the polo grounds parking lot next to the stadium in the 1950s.

There is a new book out today on the 1951 season and playoffs between brooklyn and the giants its called

THE ECHOING GREEN by Joshua Prager ISBN-0-375-42154-8
it costs $26.95.
This a great book on this historic 1951 national league season between the brooklyn dodgers and new york giants. its filled with photos.i helped out with the author in writing this book and i am also in it. this is a great book that everyone should checkout and read.

Polo Grounds

These photos show the polo grounds from 8th ave which was out beyond centerfield. in the top photo you are standing on 8th ave and looking down at the Polo Grounds. you can also see part of the EL Line that ran on 8th ave in front of the polo grounds.
In the bottom photo you are again on 8th ave looking into the polo grounds parking lot that was located next to the first baseside of the historic ballpark.
