Braves React To Hampton Injury...Sign Mark Redman

It took GM John Schuerholz no time at all to sign a new starting pitcher. Mark Redman Was still out there on the free agency market when Schuerholz called on Thursday. "Under the circumstances that we find ourselves, we feel very fortunate that he was available," Braves general manager John Schuerholz said.
Manager Bobby Cox Also Reacted Stating Redman Would Get A Shot right away. Saying that Redman will start for them in Saturday afternoon's game Vs. the Blue Jays.
"It's a great pick-up,You know that every team is looking for starting pitching. There's going to be one or two guys not make the rotation somewhere that's going to be available" Braves manager Bobby Cox said. The Braves Skipper Remembers Redman from his 2003 Season spent with the Florida Marlins in which Redman Beat the Braves on 2 starts.
"I really liked him when he was with Florida," said Cox.
Redman Should have no trouble making the 25-man roster at the end of spring but he was signed to a minor league contract because the 40-man roster was full.Redman will make $750,000 and his contract also allows for him to make an additional $500,000 in performance bonuses.
You May remember Mark Redman spending last season with the Kansas City Royals. The Left-hander led the team in wins and starts and should provide the Braves with some good Quality starts.....
