Clark nominated for Clemente Award

PHOENIX -- Tony Clark probably hasn't played as much as he may have liked this season, but that hasn't stopped him from being active in the community and a leader in the clubhouse.

For his off-the-field efforts, Clark -- a second-year Diamondbacks veteran who served as a mentor to everyday rookie first baseman Conor Jackson while working through an extended stay on the disabled list with a shoulder injury -- is Arizona's nominee for the Roberto Clemente award.

The award recognizes the player who best exemplifies the game of baseball, sportsmanship, community involvement and the individual's contribution to his team. It is named in honor of the former Pirates outfielder whose spirit and goodwill will always be remembered. Clemente died in a plane crash while attempting to transport relief supplies to earthquake-stricken Nicaragua on Dec. 31, 1972.

The winner will be announced during the World Series.

Well he's kind of had it in me ever since i accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace "accidentally" with "repeatedly" and replace "dog" with "son".
