As of today, Ichiro Suzuki has 2721 Major League hits, and is a combined 3999 hits in Japan and the States. One more hit and he reaches the 4000 hit plateau that has only been reached in a major league by Ty Cobb (4189) and Pete Rose (4256). He has really slowed down as a hit machine, but since he hits predominantly singles anyway, I don't think many people notice. He can stay healthy and slap his way to 279 more singles in the next few years, I believe. He just has to keep his legs going to keep beating out weak infield hits...
