Angles Angels Trade Dan Haren to the Cubs

Dan Haren will no longer be sporting an Angels uniform. The former Angel was traded to the Chicago Cubs for Carlos Marmol on Friday,

Marmol could potential help fix the Angels bullpen problems in 2013. Marmol is known to walking tons of hitters, posting a career walks per-nine of 6, but walked 7.3 hitters per-nine in 2012.

Haren, 31, is no stranger to being traded. In his 10 years in the majors the right hander is well traveled with time spent as a St. Louis Cardinal, Arizona Diamondback, Oakland Athletic, and most recently the Angels.

Haren spent three seasons on the Angels' staff. Posting a 33-27 record and a 3.52 ERA during his time in Anheim.

Health will be a big issue next year. Haren spent some time on the DL in 2012, and it really reflected in his numbers. Having near career highs in WHIP and ERA.

The Cubs now strengthen their rotation by adding a quality veteran starter. The young Cubs team probably won't do too much in 2013, but adding Haren was a good move by the north siders.
