No, I hadn't before you posted it. Wily Mo didn't play in MLB in 2009 and 2010, then was called up for 39 games for the Diamondbacks and Mariners. He didn't do so great (.204 AVG, .250 OBP, .415 SLG), but he did much better in Triple A, Reno and Tacoma with (.358 AVG, .440 OBP, .712 SLG). He is at the right time in his career for a move to the NPB and turn 30 next season. The NPB is considered somewhere between the MLB and Triple A, so I would expect his numbers to reflect that. He should understand that the Japanese are more regimented about practice; the faster he adjusts the better off he'll be. But if he doesn't fall inline and produce quickly; Asian clubs don't mess around and he will be waived. Stay tuned...
