Updates on Samurai Japan:
- Samurai Japan has already submitted formal invitations to Japanese MLB player like Ichiro, Norichika Aoki, Munenori Kawasaki, Yu Darvish, Hiroki Kuroda, and Hisashi Iwakuma.
- Daily Sports mentions five Japanese MLB player names: Ichiro, Kuroda, Darvish, Aoki, and Iwakuma. No mention of Kawasaki. It seems Samurai Japan has also given up on Hideki Matsui, since his status for 2013 is still unknown. Sadaharu Oh could step in and attempt to persuade Ichiro to play.
- Koji Yamamoto would like to make Koji Uehara the closer for Samurai Japan. Uehara has refrained from stating whether or not he will play.
