Blue Jays activate Ryan from DL
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Toronto activated closer B.J. Ryan from the disabled list on Sunday. The left-handed Ryan has not pitched since April 14 of last season after undergoing Tommy John elbow ligament reconstruction surgery on May 10.
In 2005, Ryan saved 38 games in 42 chances prompting Toronto to sign him to a five-year, $47 million contract.
To make room for Ryan on the active roster, the Blue Jays optioned Brandon League to Triple-A Syracuse. League appeared in two games this season for the Blue Jays, allowing two runs on two hits over 2 2/3 innings.

This is certainly good news for the Jays. If he can be even half as strong as he was in 2006, the Jays bullpen will be a force to be reckoned with.
