Default Seventh-inning rally lifts Blue Jays

NEW YORK -- The issue was getting borderline worrisome. Toronto's Alex Rios was limping through the second half, showing few glimpses of the player who earned his first career All-Star bid after finally flashing his potential in the season's first three months.
That player -- the Rios of the first half -- was pouring on the offense until a staph infection in his left leg sidelined him for a month. The freak injury, which included a stay of more than a week in a Toronto hospital, caused Rios to lose weight and, in turn, took a toll on his power and his timing.

It wasn't until recently that Rios finally began to break out of his slump, which began when the Blue Jays rushed him back into the lineup in late July. On Saturday, Rios tripled home two key runs against the Yankees, helping Toronto to a 6-5 win and showing his team that the first-half Rios was back.
