Default Jays pour water on Yankees' party

Despite losing ace Roy Halladay to injury, the Toronto Blue Jays managed to at least temporarily put the New York Yankees' party plans on hold.

Bengie Molina homered to start a three-run rally in the fourth inning of a 3-2 victory that kept the Bronx Bombers from clinching their ninth straight American League East championship.

The Yankees (92-60) gathered in the clubhouse afterwards to watch the Boston-Minnesota game. A Red Sox loss would hand them the division title and send them to the playoffs for the 12th straight year.

While the Blue Jays (80-72) prevented a celebration from happening on their home-field and matched their win total from 2005 before a crowd of 33,029, the bigger concern was for Halladay, who left the game with a right forearm strain in the fourth inning.
