SEATTLE -- The plan remains intact. Blue Jays ace Roy Halladay threw off a mound in the bullpen prior to Wednesday's game at Safeco Field, and he appears able to make his scheduled start on Friday.
It was the first time that Halladay pitched off a mound since being struck by a line drive on his right elbow on Sunday in Anaheim. The former American League Cy Young Award winner felt fine during the bullpen session -- except when he threw a few early curveballs. Blue Jays pitching coach Brad Arnsberg didn't think it would hinder Halladay from making his next start.
"The curveball bothered him just a little bit," Arnsberg said. "He just felt a little bit of a twinge in there. He threw a couple, and then as he got a little bit deeper, he felt a little bit better. But I don't see where we're not going to be able to start him on Friday."
