TORONTO — All the talk when J.P. Ricciardi took over as the Toronto Blue Jays' general manager in November of 2001 was about on-base percentage.
There was really nothing revolutionary about that. Getting on base is a good thing, much better than trotting back to the dugout. It always has been.
