When Blue Jays owner Ted Rogers opened the door to increasing the team's payroll Tuesday, Frank Catalanotto could not help but smile.
The veteran left fielder, who becomes a free agent after this season, sounds like he wants to stay in Toronto and Rogers' words can't hurt that cause.
"It just shows that there is a commitment to the team and that they want to win here," said Catalanotto, who entered a home game against the Cleveland Indians last night with an average of .316. "I think obviously with more money, we can put a better team on the field and have a better chance to win. I'm pretty excited about that."
