Ted Rogers agrees with J.P. Ricciardi that $70 million US is not enough to compete with the Yanks, but will it make any difference?
The Blue Jays' payroll will swell once again next year.
You can count on it being an ever bigger swell than the scheduled increase from $70 million US to $80 million.
Owner Ted Rogers yesterday said an undisclosed bump is coming. He never would have made such information public unless his people were crunching numbers, getting ready to fork over more funds.
Rogers was not reacting to general manager J.P. Ricciardi's request for more money Friday at Fenway Park. He merely was agreeing.
