TORONTO -- Rookie starter Shaun Marcum shook off some of his recent struggles and helped lead the Blue Jays to a 6-3 win over the Royals on Friday night at the Rogers Centre.
Marcum (2-3) -- without a win since July 23 -- limited Kansas City to one run on seven hits in six innings. The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for the right-hander, who went 0-3 with a 8.68 ERA in his previous five trips to the mound for Toronto (68-60). Two bases-loaded jams could've easily hurt Marcum's chances at ending his slump, but the young pitcher worked out of them successfully.
