General manager Jon Daniels made the announcement about two hours before game time. Ponson's locker had been cleaned out and his name placard removed 30 minutes later.

Daniels did not reveal specifics behind the decision, saying only that Ponson's recent behavior indicated that he was no longer interested in playing for the Rangers.

"We don't feel Sidney deserves to be here or wants to be here," Daniels said. "We're not going to get into details other than to say we're clearly trying to put together a team here, in a true sense of the word.

It might be an easy decision, yet Ponson was one part that was working right so far this year. Maybe old Sid saw some things that needed to change? And did MY bust his finger on Sids head? Did Sid see some things that need to change in the Rangers org? It is not like players have the Rangers at the top of the "to do" list.

We may never know......
