The Rangers need a center fielder, and the Twins' Torii Hunter is eligible to become a free agent at season's end.
Hunter, according to Fort Worth Star-Telegram, happens to live with his wife and three children about 50 miles north of Arlington, which seems to make him a natural fit. Hunter, 32, has given some thought about the possibility of playing so close to home.
"I haven't thought about it a little bit," Hunter told the newspaper. "I've thought about it a lot a bit. I'm going to be a free agent and I'm just watching. I'm watching to see what all the teams out there are going to do. "My family's there and that's the main thing. My family wants me there. My kids want me there. But at the same, we're just seeing what the situation looks like because I do have to be in a winning situation. Any player wants that."
Yeah, I'd love to see Hunter come and play but either way, I think he'll of course be a valuable asset no matter where he goes. Texas sure could use him though, lol.
