ARLINGTON -- Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels announced today the club has signed the following players to contracts for the 2007 season: RHP Francisco Cruceta, RHP Frank Francisco, RHP Armando Galarraga, LHP Daniel Haigwood and LHP John Rheinecker.

Cruceta played the entire season in the Seattle organization. He was 1-9, 4.38 (78 ER/160.1 IP) over 28 games/starts for Triple-A Tacoma and 0-0, 10.80 (8 ER/6.2 IP) over 4 games/one start with the Mariners.

Francisco began the season on the 15-day disabled list after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2005. After being reinstated on June 20, he split the season between Spokane, Frisco and Texas. He appeared in 8 games with the Rangers and went 0-1, 4.91 (4 ER/7.1 IP).

Galarraga appeared in games with Frisco, Bakersfield, Spokane and the Arizona Rangers. He combined to go 1-10, 5.01 (39 ER/70.0 IP) over 18 games/starts.

Texas acquired Haigwood from Philadelphia for LHP Fabio Castro on June 29. He was 1-2, 3.63 (25 ER/62.0 IP) over 12 games/starts with Frisco.

Rheinecker made his Major League debut with the Rangers in 2006 and went 4-6, 5.86 (46 ER/70.2 IP) over 21 games/13 starts in 3 stints with the club. He also made 15 starts with Oklahoma, going 4-5, 2.52 (26 ER/93.0 IP) with 68 strikeouts and 24 walks.

I haven't heard much of the others but I've of course heard of Rheinecker and Francisco. Rheinecker resigning is great because I've heard he is going to be a good young pitcher whenever he fully develops. Of course, Francisco is always a good arm to add to the pen, and does anybody remember that he is infamous for throwing the chair into the stands?
