Default Rangers unveil new marketing campaign for the 2007 season

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Texas Rangers announced today details of a new advertising campaign for the 2007 season. The new creative will be featured in television and radio commercials, outdoor billboards, print advertising, and utilized throughout all Rangers marketing avenues.

Door Number 3, an advertising agency out of Austin, Texas, has been hired to help develop the message and creative for this branding campaign. The theme of this season's marketing, "You Could Use Some Baseball," is focused on building the Rangers' brand and will give the target audience reasons, some not previously considered, for spending afternoons and evenings at Rangers games.

"We're impressed with Door Number 3's credentials and excited about our new partnership," said Kelly Calvert, Texas Rangers Assistant Vice President of Marketing. "We look forward to how their fresh ideas and perspective will complement our marketing efforts and enhance our ability to relate to new Rangers fans."

New billboards have been placed in multiple locations around the Dallas area and include phrases such as "Fond memories are not created in Strip Malls," "First Base has nothing to do with Kissing," and "Blalock, Young, and Teixeira. No, not a Law Firm." Each is tagged with the phrase "You could use some baseball." Last week, television commercials were produced that feature people in everyday situations and illustrate how much more memorable a Texas Rangers game would be than the everyday chores. The television and radio commercials that contrast everyday busy-ness with rich experiences will begin running in the Texas Rangers local market on February 19. They will also be available for viewing on texasrangers.com once the complete series has been produced.

In addition to the new advertising campaign, the Rangers will be opening a new Dallas storefront to increase the visibility of the team in the Dallas area. The office will give prospective fans the opportunity to meet a personal account representative in Dallas to assist with season, suite, and group entertaining, as well as shop for individual game tickets and official Texas Rangers merchandise. "This new location will allow our sales staff to sell tickets in a completely different and unique way," says Dan Fine, Vice President of Dallas Sales. "We are able to get in front of key clients in the Dallas area and talk to them face-to-face about the Texas Rangers product." The Dallas office provides another new element for Rangers advertising - an additional way to reach the ticket office by calling 972-RANGERS.
