Twins rookie reliever Pat Neshek and his loopy sidearm delivery were called upon unexpectedly Wednesday at Tropicana Field when starter Carlos Silva's gem was interrupted before the bottom of the seventh inning by a sudden stomach complaint.
It was a good thing, too, for the Devil Rays. Even Neshek's microscopic ERA of 1.35 and his unorthodox throwing motion looked enticing after Silva had allowed one hit through six innings before falling ill.
