Joe Maddon has had to call a number of players into his office this season and tell them they were being sent down to Triple-A Durham. But it's safe to say that none of them were as angry and frustrated as RHP Chad Harville, designated for assignment Tuesday night to make room for RHP Chad Orvella's call-up from Durham.
Minutes after learning that he was leaving the club, Harville held nothing back in a heat-of-the-moment rant that blasted the organization. He made it clear that he does not want to remain a Devil Ray.
"That's why this organization has been horse[expletive]. They've done horse[expletive] things from the beginning. And we've got 15 days left here [before rosters expand] and they've got to get a look at somebody," Harville said. "Orvella, he's been here before. They know what they're getting with him. It's a horse[expletive] excuse for them, and that's the way I feel about it."
