Schumaker snares rare Redbird feat
Outfielder first Cardinal to collect six hits since Moore in '35

But none of those players ever did what Skip Schumaker did on Saturday night. Schumaker's six-hit game was the first by a Cardinal since Terry Moore had six against the Boston Braves on Sept. 5, 1935.
Schumaker went 6-for-7 in the 14-inning contest, scoring three runs. In each inning the Cardinals scored, Schumaker scored.
"Someone told me yesterday that [it had been that long]," Schumaker said on Sunday morning. "With all the greats that have been through here, it's pretty amazing. It took 14 innings, but even saying that, I'll take that [six hits] any week."
